I got one!

Yet another classy find from Godawful Wedding Crap! Man, I can't imagine any bride's t-shirt wardrobe being complete without this little number:Even better? You can get this printed on anything from mugs to calendars to aprons to clocks since it's from CafePress. Oh joy!

New Toy

I have a new baby! No, not a real baby (are you kidding?)

Last night I did a little impulse shopping and picked up a little Nikon camera! I can't take a picture of it (::duh::) but here's the idea:It's so cute and perky looking. I know it's not the best camera out there (my husband has an SLR I steal occasionally) but it was pretty cheap and will fit in my suit pocket when I toodle around at weddings.

This weekend is going to be crazy for me -- I have a wedding on Saturday that I've planned in 3 months! We have a million moving pieces as usual and my brain's a little fried. Plus this is one of the first weddings the venue has ever done! I'll try to take photos as I go so you can see what the daily life of a wedding planner is like.

Stay tuned!

Congratulations, Telliegrams!

I've blogged before about Telliegrams, which is a great company that makes personalized favor boxes amongst other cute paper products (favor tags, anyone?). I just got the latest copy of The Bride & Bloom magazine in my mailbox and guess who I see featured on page 18?Those are some of their cute favor boxes!! The Telliegrams ones are the black & white one, the silver on on the bottom left, and the green one with the adorable 'B' tag. The other ones featured are by Dauphine Press, and are about double the cost. What do you think? Would you use these cute favor boxes for your wedding? How about a shower or a bridesmaids luncheon?

MoMA Wedding Gifts

Check out these artsy gift ideas from New York's famous Museum of Modern Art store! Here's a beautifully crafted cheese grater:
Or how about a honey jar?
I love the sleek shape of this pitcher:
This vase is just too cool. For some reason it reminds me of an ant farm:
Not your mom's dustbuster:
While I'm thinking of ant farms, does anyone know Mitch Hedberg? Amy and I laugh for hours over this guy. He's one of my favorite comedians and this is one of my favorite jokes:
I got an ant farm but them fellas didn't grow shit.

Directions made easy!

WeddingBee clued me in on this awesome service and I thought you might like it too! Dial DIR-ECT-IONS from any cell phone, say where you are now, where you want to be, and it'll give you turn-by-turn directions by text! The best part is that you can create an event (like your wedding), and when your guests call they just have to say the name of your party. Check out their website for even more information on how it works.

Sale @ Kate's Paperie

I'm back! Kerry had the best guess and I was in Cape Hatteras, NC last week. The photo was from Ocracoke, NC, where we honeymooned (and is just a short ferry ride away from Hatteras). Here's a photo my very talented father took of the beach:While supplies last, check out Kate's Paperie for a great fall sale!

Laura's Full Time!

It's with great pleasure that I announce I'll be working on Soiree full time! My last day at WeddingWire was yesterday and while I'm sad to not see those guys every day (or the Dulles Toll Road, I66, I495, and I270...four highways in my daily commute), I'm very excited and anxious to focus my time and energy on my own company.

I'll be out of the office until next Friday but will check email periodically and get back to all voicemails as I can. I'm going to this place:Can anyone figure out where this is?

Cake Toppers with Panache

I just love the adorable Swarovski cake toppers from Very Different Cakes! They're all so vibrant and different -- I guess the right word would be 'whimsical.' Some of them may not be ideal for a fancy wedding, but think of a kid's birthday party? Or a fun non-formal wedding?
