In the spirit of Halloween, I thought I'd share this adorable little Frankenstein cake topper! Made by Etsy seller BabyGimp, this handpainted piece is a steal at $25. Check it out before it's gone!

Yet another classy find from Godawful Wedding Crap! Man, I can't imagine any bride's t-shirt wardrobe being complete without this little number:Even better? You can get this printed on anything from mugs to calendars to aprons to clocks since it's from CafePress. Oh joy!

Happy Accidents

"I just want my day to be perfect."

We hear our brides say this all the time. But what does 'perfect' really mean? While in an ideal world we could get everything right every time, something usually goes wrong at every wedding. Our job at Soiree is to make sure the bride and groom remain happy and oblivious until they return from their honeymoon.

For instance, we've had multiple limos not show, cakes delivered that are the wrong design, the improper number of tables set for dinner, flowers in the completely wrong color, missing bouquets, had caterers that run out of plates/silverware/glasses/etc, and even bridesmaids getting 'sick' during the ceremony or passing out.

I was reading a cute blog posting from Mackenzie over at Something Old, Something New where she talked about a random mishap on her wedding day. Appropriately entitled 'Happy Accidents,' the post is more about maintaining a sense of character and uniqueness at your wedding. Similarly, Miss Plum over at WeddingBee created a laundry list of things that went wrong, including a very sweaty groom, cutting into the styrofoam cake layer, and mismatched bridesmaid footwear.

While accidents aren't ever intended, they're usually not harmful to anyone and are most certainly memorable. These little imperfections are the reason your great aunt Maude had such a good time and why your cousin Harry can't stop talking about it. Of course as a bride your biggest challenge will be seeing past the awkward moment, deciding to deal with it later, and enjoying yourself on the day.

Creative Advertising

Ever thought about writing people's names on toast then selling a photo of it? Your Name on Toast has beat you to it! You can buy a piece of toast and have the dutiful site owners draw on it with a Sharpie. Then your toasts' photo gets posted online as a link to your website. The more money you pay the higher your toast gets on the site!The cool part is that they're a nonprofit organization, and their proceeds go to great charities. That last little bit kind of makes me want to buy a slice....

Blades of Glory

This photo really makes me want to see Will Ferrell & John Heder's new movie:

Blades of Glory comes out March 30th and I can hardly wait! Will Ferrell, John Heder, Amy Poehler, and Jenna Fisher create an all-star cast for the ice skating flick. Andy Richter, Craig T. Nelson, Scott Hamilton, and Rob Corddry even make appearances!

Despite my earlier post, I swear I'm not obsessed with ice skating or Scott Hamilton. I just think this movie looks classic!
