Thanks for stopping by!

Yesterday we had a booth at the Washington Bridal Showcase, and it was GREAT to meet so many future brides! We had a blast giving out our little black boxes and talking about weddings all day.

Here's a photo of our awesome booth, designed by our very own Intern Melissa! More photos coming soon:

Happy New Year!

Okay, okay....so only two weeks late. Not too bad, right?

2007 is bringing lots of exciting changes! First, I started my new part-time job at WeddingWire and life is pretty cool there. It's fun working in a different environment and of course my coworkers are simply fantastic. I'm the "community manager" and while I have yet to determine exactly what it means, I'm getting the hang of it. The best part is that I get Fridays off, which will allow me to get to rehearsals on time, meet with vendors during working hours, and of course spend more time with my clients and employees. My former day job was great, but this has been a wonderful change!

Soiree is taking on a lot of great weddings this year, which we are very excited about! We kicked off the new year with Ruby & Toby, who's Indian wedding took place at the Newton White Mansion this past weekend. Who says you can't squeeze 300 people into that place? Special thanks goes to Loren at Party Rental Ltd., who helped make it happen. The amazing Cassidy DuHon will hopefully be supplying some photos for my blog soon.

Some other great weddings this year will be at Hillsborough Vineyards, the Torpedo Factory, Top of the Town, and the National Museum of Women in the Arts (to name a few). One of my good friends from college is tying the knot this spring, and another great friend just got engaged! I love witnessing my friends take the next big steps in their lives.

Other than the usual craziness of running a company, things have been rather mellow. We had no weddings in December and don't have any more until mid-February. It's allowing me some time to catch up and work ahead, which I'm very thankful for after the hectic 2006 wedding season. I'm hoping to take it a little easier this year, but if I know me, I'll want to be a part of as many weddings as I can! We'll see how it goes :)

Here's to wishing us all many happy returns in 2007! Cheers!
