Vote for Us!

If you haven't already, please visit this site and vote for us! If you've voted already, please go back and use all the email addresses you have (you know you have at least 3)! If you've voted with all your addresses, then THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!! Feel free to forward it to all your friends, family, and coworkers. They'll love you forever :)

Of course the site is a total ripoff, since vendors can nominate themselves. What's the point? Not that we're complaining, but I don't quite understand how this is really a fair game! And since you're wondering: we nominated ourselves too (why not take advantage?).

And now for something completely different:

I wanted to give a quick shoutout to the awesome selection of push pins at my favorite store: Target. I recently invested in a $20 whiteboard/corkboard and also snatched up some neat little push pins! They also carry a line of Real Simple organization tools, which I almost succumbed to. Dorky, I know. Pretty soon I'll be known as "that dorky girl that likes push pins"! Maybe I should stop blogging so late at night.......

I have more photos from the very talented Linda Wallace! Chris and I are so extremely happy with how these turned out, and we're glad to share some with you! Here goes:

These programs took forever to make!
I was really hoping that our guests would use these:

And they did!

Our entire ceremony was like this. Laughing and crying at the same time:
A peek inside the reception. Check out Mr. Luc there with his ice cream popper:
We took dance lessons then stalled! Luckily there's always the reliable 'stand & sway':
Rocio did an awesome job on our cake! The cake stand was a great find by my grandma:

Be on TLC!

I received an interesting email from a casting company, looking for a couple to feature on a new TLC show. Here's what they sent:
__________
"...the show is called "I Do... Again!" It is a GOOD-NATURED, EDUCATIONAL SHOW about the challenges and rewards of blending families. We are looking for engaged couples in which both parties are getting married for at least the second time. Ideal candidates have at least 4 children between them from previous marriages, are not currently living together and are planning to get married by the end of the year.

While the wedding of the couple doesn't have to be taking place immediately, we do need to "cast" our couples right away because part of the show will be featuring the couple in the weeks/months leading up to their big day!"
__________

Email us for the contact information of this casting company! You must be a Soiree client, as they are looking for couples who have a wedding coordinator.

Laura Hearts Linda Wallace

Hi everyone! Today's the 1-month anniversary of my own wedding date! Going through my own wedding made me realize that all the planning, stress, and drama is totally worth it! Our wedding day was just gorgeous and I'm so happy with how everything turned out.

It re-affirms my feelings, too, that my company offers a service that is real, tangible, and definitely worth it's weight in gold! There were, of course, issues on my wedding day that popped up and I didn't know about any of them until after the honeymoon was over. I hired Mariah, Amy, and Ryan from my own team and they did a fantastic job! Apparently the ceremony flowers wouldn't stay up due to wind, the caterer did not bring any sodas (not to any fault of their own), and I had way more stuff to set up than any bride I've ever seen! They all handled it beautifully and I'm so thankful they were there to run the show. I'm so glad to know that my business is a worthwhile thing and we're making life easier for our clients!

We've only received a handful of professional photographs back from Linda Wallace, but we love every one of them! We're anxiously awaiting the rest, but for now here's some examples:

Me & the new Husband in Old Town Alexandria after the reception

Our favors doubled as our placecards. My fabulous grandmother made all these jars for us - they're filled with homemade strawberry jam!

Our letters marked the entrance to the reception at the Newton White Mansion

More photos in Old Town! This is right before we randomly saw Julie & Dave, my June 24th bride & groom! They let us take pictures on their boat - they work together on the Potomac!

We had paper parasols to give guests a little shade during our outdoor ceremony.

Some of our vendors included: Rehearsal Dinner at the Chart House in Alexandria, Reception at the Newton White Mansion, Catering by Marco Polo Caterers, Coordination by Soiree Special Events, Photography by Linda Wallace, Cake by A Piece of Cake, Flowers by Petals Edge, Ceremony Music by the Moeller Duo, Reception Music by DJ Greyhound, and many more!! Kudos to all who made the day possible -- I have no complaints about any of my vendors and they were all just completely fantastic. I highly highly recommend every single one of them!
