Hot or Not?

The Bride and Bloom Magazine has put out it's 2007 "hot or not" list for weddings! Here's a small sample:
HOT: Vintage styling and details, lace and ruffles, embroidery, colorful sashes and accents, spanx and sandal

NOT:
pleats, long trains and heavy bustles, beading, hosiery – especially in white or sparkly tones

You can read the full article on their website here.

  • I found that this article was somewhat contradictory. In the Beauty section you are encouraged to "look like yourself" but also to use tanning cream. What about embracing beautiful pale skin ala Marcia Cross or Nicole Kidman?

Also a little contradictory... a "hot" is asking people to pay your mortgage and asking people to help pay for your honeymoon but a "not" is asking people for cash or asking people to help pay for your wedding? What's the difference? All are tasteless.

It was also not very explantory in some areas - a "not" is "generic favors or details" and "generic wedding cakes". O.k. and what is considered "generic" vs. "not generic." They got a little lazy with that. Yet they list "monograms" as a do...monograms are old and so overdone now...great if that's what you like, but not really a "hot" item.

Bride&Bloom really fell down on this one!
