Update: Jennie & Joe's Photographs

The photos are in! Marilynn Spindler of Sandi Foraci Photography did a fantastic job on these photographs and I'm so happy to be able to share them with you! Here's a quick sampling:

Deirdre & Jim Tied the Knot!

Deirdre & Jim were wed this past Saturday, May 6th, at the Mansion at Strathmore in Bethesda, Maryland. Their ceremony was held in the Music room, with beautiful harp music and a grand piano as their backdrop. Flowers by Like Water for Tulips draped the aisle, and the fireplace mantle at the front of the room was elegantly decorated. The ceremony seemed very intimate, even though their 115 closest friends and family were all in the room.

The celebration continued at Centro Italian Grill in Bethesda, which closed for their lunch hour to accomodate the party. The bride and groom were introduced by yours truly, and they played their favorite CDs on the restaurant's speaker system. You really can't go wrong with Louis Armstrong and Frank Sinatra! Their only 'traditional' wedding event was a cake cutting, which they did near the end of the meal. Cakes by Linda provided a beautiful cake - I only wish I got to eat some before heading out the door! I'm looking forward to seeing photos by Tracy at Timmester Photography, so hopefully I can share them with you!

After the reception, the couple invited everyone to an after party at the groom's condo clubhouse. They hired a DJ, bartender, and waiter off of Craigslist, which worked out extremely well! Joanna helped me throughout the day, and by the time we got there the place had mostly been set up! What a change of pace for us!

Dierdre & Jim hired Soiree quite a few months ago, and were one of the rare couples that didn't meet me before booking. They have lived all over the world, but most recently the bride was in Atlanta while planning a DC wedding. I have to admit that although I only met them for the first time a week out from their wedding, they're one of my favorite couples and I'd help coordinate their vow renewal ceremony in a heartbeat!

Their beautiful ceremony, trendy reception, and nontraditional afterparty made this one of the best wedding's I've coordinated. The bride and groom were so completely in love and the wedding was totally personalized, very different, and all the guests had a great time. You really can't ask for a better combination!

Congratulations, Kim & Colin!

Kim and Colin were married yesterday, April 30th, at the Kent Manor Inn on the eastern shore of Maryland. They exchanged vows by a gazebo under an old tree. The water view was stunning and small boats cruised by. The sun was out and made the colors in the bouquets just pop. Simply gorgeous.

My favorite moment of the day was after the ceremony had ended and Kim and Colin stole away to the manor house for a few private moments. I hated being the one to interrupt something so special, but it was truly magical to see them so in love. I wish the family photographs could have waited until the end of time, so they could experience that forever!

The wedding was great and you could tell all the guests enjoyed themselves. The Inn did a fantastic job with the food and setup, which made my job a lot easier. Photographs were taken by Srinu & Amy of Regeti's Photography, who are truly a pleasure to work with. The florist was Bouquets by Bell, the Moeller Duo provided ceremony and cocktail music, and monogrammed cookie favors were provided by Krista at the Pretty Sweet Bakery.
